spinning in over eastern nevada, triggering a few snow showers in the sierra as we pointed out earlier. all of that stuff in the gulf of alaska will be heading up north and so, we really don't have to worry about it. out the door, sunny and cool for the bay area today. and the future cast is showing we'll get a few clouds, but that will be about it. mostly sunny skies predominate today. in the extended forecast we'll be calling for numbers to be mostly in the 50s today, as we look ahead, the next chance for showers moving into the bay area, late wednesday, early thursday. and that's off enough into the future. this is a caution nare note. it doesn't really look like anything solid right now but there is at least the potential so we give you a head's up simply by way of performing our public duty in the weather department. otherwise it will be nice >> except for the fact of the temperatures being so chilly. i put on my heat last night. >> oh, no. it won't be the last time. >>> the lakers' head coach, fired. the golden state warriors hope for an easy night against l.a. all the dr

concord. livermore has 29. santa rosa with fog. rainfall totals look like this. nevada picked up a fifth of an inch of rain. these totals are from the last several hours. they picked up 1.9 inches of rain. san francisco, half an inch. livermore managed 45- hundredths. winter storm warnings are posted throughout the sierra. a few inches posted about 10,000 feet. still the wind gusts could be up to 45 miles an hour. we're going to start out foggy and cloudy for the bay area today. just mild temperatures and changes ahead for the bay. as we expect, low clouds will be moving in midday on tuesday. that favors the north baby tuesday night. the only thing is we'll be starting out with fog in santa rosa. other than that, the field today will be far more sunshine than we had yesterday and the rain now has headed east to the bay area. increasing sunshine for us today. numbers still on the mild side. for san francisco, we're going to be looking at numbers on monday if you're headed out. 64 at the airport. looks good. no airport delays on monday. los angeles is sunny. so for the most part, so

yesterday. every major ski resort in the tahoe area in nevada or northern california will be open by friday much better than last year where we had no snow until early december. back here in the bay area the bay bridge with a backdrop of mainly cloudy skies. concord 58. san francisco 61. cloudy in san jose. currently 62 degrees. the set up in the atmosphere is this. there is a large area of pressure approaching the bay area. it will take time to get here and time to leave. the first wave of rainfall gets here tomorrow morning, sloppy morning commute to wrap up the workweek and a rough drive home. this low pressure is going to take the weekend to get out leaving finally on sunday afternoon. so that's most of friday all of saturday and most of sunday looking wet. let's time the first wave for you because we're look at steady to heavy rainfall especially north of the golden gate on friday morning with scattered showers and kind of throughout the day picking up in intensity once again by 6:00 tomorrow night. highs tomorrow with the cloud cover with the rain, a little below normal. san fr

nevada bring chains. let's time it out. today showers continuing on and off. into the evening here's the next band that i was talking about. you can see some heavier downpours and that will push through tonight. scattered showers into saturday not a rainout but you want to keep that umbrella and then a stronger system moves in on saturday night into sunday morning. mix of sun and clouds and some wandering showers on sunday. so not a washout for the weekend. but we'll see some occasional rain. most of that comes in the nighttime hours. temperatures are going to stay fairly mild with this storm system. rainfall totals though impressive. over 1.5" into the santa cruz mountains over an inch in the santa rosa area and then toward the next storm system, maybe over 2." so a good soaker for the bay area and we are not done. more on the way after that. temperatures mainly in the 60s for today. next few days a little stormy so a wet weekend for the bay area. then it looks like come monday the rain line shifts further north still a chance of a few showers to the north bay, maybe some more showe

several battleground states. some more than once. only the president will visit nevada and florida. >> back in the bay area the murder of a business owner in oakland is prompting a promise from the police chief. the man known as mr. marcus was shot and killed last night at his cellular store on international boulevard. how neighbors are remembering a man known as a leader in the community. >> reporter: disbelief that someone killed a man who gave so much to a community that has so little. >> he was always giving the kids raider tickets. kids would come in if they were hungry he would give them money to feed them. >> it's such a sad sad moment. not because of just what they've taken from us but what they've taken from everyone else. my father was an amazing man. >> reporter: the police chief and the victim's family spoke out this afternoon asking witnesses to speak up and help solve the senseless killing. >> i'm personally saddened by this very senseless act of violence. i pledge to this family and this community we will pour as many resources as we can into finding the killer. >> r
